Half of the energy in the green ProAuto Multifunctional Complex is provided by renewable energy sources (RES)

Geotrading AD, part of the GEOTECHMIN Group, built a photovoltaic power station on the roof of the green ProAuto Multifunctional Complex. The annual solar electricity production will be 83 mWh. This is the company’s third solar park. The first two photovoltaic power stations were built on the roofs of the service centres in the Gorublyane Residential Area in Sofia and in Etropole in 2021. The total electricity generation from the three photovoltaic power stations is 157 mWh.

The new installation has an installed capacity of 82.72 kWp and is Geotrading’s largest to date. The ProAuto Multifunctional Complex uses the latest generation of eco-friendly energy saving solutions and together with the yield from the new photovoltaic power station, the share of green technologies will reach almost 50%. A heat pump, which uses geothermal energy through closed vertical drilling of 100 m depth, operates in the complex.

The new photovoltaic power station saves carbon emissions that would be released by the consumption of 13 tons of diesel fuel, by a petrol car that has covered 142,000 km, by the annual electricity consumption of 7 houses, and by charging nearly 2.3 million mobile phones.

The construction of the solar park is another investment in the green ProAuto Multifunctional Complex, which is certified according to the British standard for sustainable buildings BREEAM 2013 with a rating of Very Good. ProAuto uses less water, electricity and natural resources, generates its own energy and provides excellent working and leisure conditions according to the highest requirements for a healthy environment.

The construction of the solar park on the roof of the ProAuto Multifunctional Complex is part of the strategy of Geotrading AD and GEOTECHMIN Group for green investments and environmental protection. The project is in line with the tendency to stimulate the construction of RES capacity in urban areas, which optimizes the area used for clean energy production. In the first four months of the year, they have produced almost 100,000 kWh of green energy.

All three photovoltaic power stations were built by Energeo EOOD – also a GEOTECHMIN Group company. Due to joint projects, Geotrading uses 100% green energy. Energeo EOOD implements projects for the construction of solar parks in different parts of the country.
