Geotrading received over 100 students at the ProAuto Multifunctional Complex

Geotrading AD received over 100 students at the ProAuto Multifunctional Complex during the Career Opportunities Day. The event was held by the University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski” and GEOTECHMIN Group. The students learnt about the opportunities for paid internships and about gaining a scholarship from the companies. GEOTECHMIN Group was represented by Ivan Vutov, EngD. – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Geotrading AD and Deputy Manager of Geotechmin OOD, Mr. Dominic Hamers – Executive Director of Geotechmin OOD, Mr. Krasimir Dekov – Deputy Commercial Manager of Geotrading AD, among others. Guests from the University of Mining and Geology included the Rector Prof. Ivaylo Koprev, PhD., the Deputy Rectors and the Deans of the three faculties.

“Working with you has provided us with access to cutting-edge technologies, because in reality, companies from the mineral and raw material industry advance much faster. This gives our university an advantage and facilitates the process of early career guidance in schools,” said Prof. Ivaylo Koparev and wished the students to become part of the great GEOTECHMIN Group family. 

During the event, discussions with employees of GEOTECHMIN Group companies, who had graduated from the University of Mining and Geology, were held. The employees talked about their career development and how their academic expertise helped them perform their work duties. The participant on behalf of Geotrading AD, Mr. Krasimir Dekov, has economic degrees from two universities, after which he enrolled at the University of Mining and Geology, where he gained a Master’s Degree in “Extraction Management and Complex Ores Processing”.

“I started as a technical assistant and the job allowed me to meet plenty of specialists and professionals with technical expertise in the Enrichment complex, as well as in the Mining complex. This aroused interest and passion in me to develop my knowledge and skills in this direction. The education in the University of Mining and Geology helped me, as everything I was seeing on site that I had not studied about before, had been shown and explained to me in the best theoretic way possible”. According to Mr. Dekov, in order to grow successfully in professional terms, young people must work with passion and love. Here is the advice he gave them: “You have already chosen the University of Mining and Geology, so now just continue following your goals and ideas!”
